I lived in Quitman from ‘53 - ‘60., in the house on the northeast corner directly across from the Powells. The time frame would have been the year 58 or so. Being in the same class with Beth, I enjoyed many a birthday party at their home.
All my sympathies for the loss of one great lady of the Greatest Generation!

We lived directly across the street from the Powells in ‘58!or so, while our new home was being built at the lake.
I was a classmate of Beth, and enjoyed many a birthday party at their home.
God bless one from the Greatest Generation!

Especially to Jay and the “Powell girls”: So very sorry to hear about Ms. Mary! We will be out of town and unable to attend her service. But wanted to let you know that I pray for you all! Ms Mary was very special to my family. So thankful for having known her. Give Mr A J a big hug from me! And Joey sends his sincerest sympathy as well!

My deepest condolences for the loss of your Wife/Mother.
There is a beautiful scripture in the bible that gives a hope at times like this. At Jo 5:28,29 it tells us that God will remember our dead loved ones and will bring them back to life on earth so they can have the opportunity to enjoy living forever in peace. Ps 37:11,29.
Imagine the day when there are no more tears of sorrow and death and pain are gone forever.
I hope these promises will bring you comfort.

I am truly sorry to learn of Ms. Powell's passing. She was such a part of my upbringing in First Baptist. She and A. J. were always such good folks to me and my folks, Toby and Dot. Carter. My Family and I send our most heartfelt condolences to the Powell family. May God Bless you all.
