Russell McBride

Mr. William Russell McBride, 86 of Quitman passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his residence. Mr. McBride was born January 2, 1936 to the late Allen & Mable Tye McBride. He retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mr. McBride was the past President of the local Bass Club and he enjoyed fishing, sports, football and baseball, and playing golf. 

Survivors include his wife, Keiko Masuta McBride of Quitman; children, George Morris of Japan, Russell (Dawn) McBride of Quitman, Jimmy (Amy) McBride, Michael (Jessie) McBride of Quitman, Lisa (Miles) Hannan of Valdosta; grandchildren, Danielle Denton of Laconia New Hampshire, Brianna (Shane) Hall of Pavo, Kenichi Morris of Japan, Riley McBride of New York City, Ryan Hines, Blake McBride of Twin City, Keiko "Grace" McBride of Twin City, Benjamin McBride of Twin City, Jacob McBride of Twin City, Samuel McBride of Twin City, Sarah Joy McBride of Twin City, Reikio "Nick" McBride of Morven, Tommy Hammond of Atlanta and Mika Morris of Japan; great grandchild, Lily Hall; brother, Tony (Brenda) McBride of Quitman. Mr. McBride was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Jane Hammond; brothers, W H "Bachie" McBride, Lesser McBride, and Garrett Woodrow McBride; sisters, Marie McBride, Gaynelle McBride, Elizabeth McLeod, and Heavie Deignan.

A celebration of life will be held Friday,January 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Nelligan officiating. Interment willl follow at Hill Crest Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Harris officiating.
