Rosa Mae Hodge

Rosa Mae Hodge, 89 of Quitman, GA passed away on July 30, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 4, 1933 to the late Dallas & Bonnie Mary Smith Sapp. She enjoyed her chickens and flowers, but mostly she enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include her children, Wayne (Glenda) Hodge of Quitman, Carolyn Mae (Buddy) Simpson of Valdosta, Rose Marie Howell of Quitman, and Laurie Ann Wood of Quitman; grandchildren, Gene (Sarah) Tyler, Matt Tyler, Cindy Tyler, Julie (Greg) Register, Tonya (Scott) Ginn, Wynetta (Timmy) Sherley, David Stephenson, Sean Smith, Jamie Smith, Latrelle Waldron, Shawna Blackmon, April Toole, Jeremy Hewett, Tyler Legette, Miranda (Bill) Hines, Courtney (Blake) Hines, Shanon (Paul) Wilson, Jessica O'Guin, and Jared O'Guin; great grandchildren, 54; great great grandchildren,5; brothers, Miles Sapp of Quitman, and Dallas Sapp, Jr of Valdosta; sisters, Louise (Richard) Sapp of Quitman, Virginia Bozeman of Quitman, Frances Crosby of Quitman, and Lillian (Jerry) Bailey of Quitman; and daughter in law, Tina Hodge of Quitman. Mrs. Hodge was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hodge; son, William James Hodge; daughter, Joyce Laverne Reynolds; granddaughter, Jennifer Marlene Hodge; and brothers, A. J. Sapp, Rayford Sapp, Wallace Sapp, Ambers Sapp, and Eugene Sapp.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home with Pastor Buck Crumley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
