Ronald Cooper Obituary

Mr. Ronald Cooper, 89 of Adel passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022. He was born April 11, 1933 in Pavo, GA , the son of the late Hurtice and Carrie Croft Cooper. Mr. Cooper retired from the United States Navy, having served 23 years and being in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. After retiring from Montgomery Ward, he went on to follow his passion with antiques, by opening a store in Amarillo. He was an active member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. He was also active with The Vietnam and Korean Veterans groups that met for coffee most mornings.

Survivors include his children, Denise Cooper (Philip) Salmon of Adel, Jowaine LaFaye Gray of Amarillo, Jeff Gray of Tulsa, James Gray of Lubbock, TX, Skip (Terri) Gray of AmarilloTim Gray of Amarillo, Greg Winborne of Amarillo, Johnjohn Young of Amarillo, Joe Brown of Amarillo, Lisa Marnel and Christy Reed; 20 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Faye Gray; sons, Michael Lee Cooper, Jerry Gray, and Joel Gray.

A casual visitation will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at Purvis  Funeral Home. A flag folding will be held at 6:30 p.m. with bell ringing.
