Roger Lee Bowling, 71, of Nashville passed away on November 2, 2023, at Berrien Nursing Center. Mr. Bowling was born in Bowling Fork, Kentucky on August 5, 1952, to Marcus and Lurlie Bowling. As a young man, he served our country valiantly in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, Mr. Bowling was a forklift driver for Chaparral Boats in Nashville for many years. Mr. Bowling is of the Baptist faith; he was saved while in the care of Lake Haven Nursing Home of Valdosta. He will be remembered as a kindhearted man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Roger leaves behind his sons, Marcus Bowling of Illinois and Michael Bowling of Illinois; daughter, Amy (Adam) Harville of Illinois; sister, Anna Griffin of Nashville; grandchildren, Jessica Mil Kovich, Serenity Bowling, Amy Bowling, Lily Bowling, Michael Bowling Jr., Nathan Harville, and Bennett; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Debbie Ridgeway Bowling; and sisters, Eda Marie Bowling and Burma Robinette.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 3:00 p m at Purvis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Nashville Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends before the service from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the funeral home.
