Robert Bruce

Robert Sam Bruce, Jr. of Boston, GA went home to the Lord on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga. Mr. Bruce was born October 23, 1938 in Autreyville, Ga. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Tempy Garbett Bruce; daughter Annette Bruce of Thomasville, GA; sons Troy Bruce (Sheryl) of Oviedo, FL and Randy Bruce (Vikki) of Carpentersville, IL; grandchildren Heather Hennessey (David) of Chuluota, Fl; Randall Bruce (Samantha) of Oviedo, FL; Anthony and Jake Bruce, and Genesis Meyer of Carpentersville, IL; great granddaughters Harper and Piper Hennessey of Chuluota, FL; and brother Allan Bruce (Joni) of Warner Robins, Ga. He is proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Agnes Bruce; brother James Bruce; sisters Fay Edmondson and Carolyn Spell.

Mr. Bruce graduated from Dixie High School in 1957 and served in the United States Air Force. He had a long career as a Tool & Die Maker and retired from TECT/Textron in Thomasville, Ga in 2004. He was an active member of Ozell United Methodist Church where he served as the Treasurer. He loved classic & antique cars, trucks, and tractors; but most importantly he loved the Lord and his family very much.

Funeral services will be held at Ozell United Methodist Church Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kirk Beckham officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Boston, GA. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home.
