Renee Cannington Obituary

Mrs. Renee Cannington, 64 of Lenox passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Renee was born May 17, 1957 in Warner Robins, GA. She had worked as a medical transcriptionist at Tift Regional Medical Center. Renee was a member of the Adel Church of God and she loved her grandchildren & the rest of her family.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Cannington of Lenox; son, Chris (Brittani) Cannington of Lenox; grandchildren, Raelyn Cannington, and Carter Cannington; mother, Imogene Babb of Eastman; brother, Terry (Candy) Shirley of Moultrie; two sisters, Robin (Jerry) Pescara of Adel, and Tracy Howell of Eastman; and several nieces & nephews. Renee was preceded in death by her father, Albert Shirley.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Adel Church of God with Rev. Charles Blair and Rev. Raymond Gabbard officiating. Interment will follow at Lenox Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. Serving as active pallbearers are Caleb Dinger, Justin Hale, Ty Sumner, Taylor Ethridge, Dustin Howell, and Joey Fender. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Simmons, Aaron Taylor, Aaron Shirley, Tim Rentz, Gene Lawson, Mike Baker, Durl Baldree, Emmett Gibbs, and Bill Day.
