Ray "Papa" Hulett Obituary

Ray Crosby Hulett, 69 of Barney passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Ray, who was so affectionately known by everyone as "Papa" was born May 24, 1954 in Jasper, FL. to the late Gene & Maude Crosby Hulett. He owned his business of landscape renovation before he retired. He was a member of Morrison Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 2004. Ray was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather that enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family and his side kick Chloe. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, spending time with his goats, chickens and his other farm animals.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Cynthia Hulett of Barney; children, Mitchell (Lisa) Hulett of Norman Park, and Melissa (Patrick) Sullivan of Valdosta; grandchildren, Gavin Mitchem, Hailey Steele, William Hulett, Taylor Newsome, and Abby Parks; 7 great grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Hulett of Valdosta, and Sammy Hulett of Barney; sister, Gina Lynn Childers of Barney; and several nieces & nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Hulett; grandson, Ryan Warren; brother, Quinton Blair; and sister, Sally Jane Hulett.   

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Morrison Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Coleman officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Morrison Baptist Church, 1915 Yates Road, Barney, GA 31625. The family asks that everyone come dressed casual.
