Mr. Owen Cowart, 86 of Adel passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Cowart was born December 22, 1932 to the late Roy & Esther Wetherington Cowart. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and retired as electrician and welder. Mr. Cowart owned Sunshine Acres Trailer Park until 2010, when he sold it.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Cowart of Adel; daughter, Jeanne (Randy) Walker of Eaton, GA; stepchildren, Ricky (Pam) Davis of Adel, Wendell (Cheryl) Davis of Nashville, William (Brenda) Davis of Sparks, and Jackie (David) Harris of Adel; grandchildren, Emily (Joey) Schramm, Sara (Corey) Mackie, Sam (Jennifer) Allen, Ivy Sissoler, David (Marylon) Allen, and Rana Parramore; step grandchildren, Savannah Warren, Richard Davis, Josh Davis, Chris Davis, Billie Jo Sutton, Andy Harris, Lucas Pelaccio, Kassi Pelaccio, and Billy Ray Harris; several great grandchildren; and three sisters, Shirley Stover of Hahira, Sylvia Noles of Valdosta, and Lynn Goff of Pavo. Mr. Cowart was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Cowart; two daughters, Kay Cowart, and Linda Allen; brother, Charles Cowart; and one sister, Doris Cook.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating. Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Purvis Funeral Home.
