Nell Brown

Mrs. Emma Nell Brown 83 of Sparks, affectionately known as "Grannie Nell" passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Berrien Nursing Center. Mrs. Brown was born December 12, 1937 to the late William Bryon Connell and Katie Mae Graham Connell. She was a member of New River Holiness Church.

Survivors include her children, Roger Terrell Brown of Chaserville, and Russell Brian (Frances) Brown of Adel; daughter in law, Anita Brown of Tifton; grandchildren, Kim (Randall) Myers, Mark (Christie) Brown, Joey (Amber) Brown, and Megan (Mac) Deason; great grandchildren, Garrett Myers, Grant Brown, Shirah Brown, Logan Deason, Liam Deason, Chayser Brown, Lola Deason, and Fysher Brown; one brother, John E. (Liesel) Connell of Sparks; sister in law, Sarabeth Connell of Lakeland. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Billy D. Brown; son, Houston Brown; grandson, Drew Brown; brother, Lamar Connell; and one sister, Myrtle Drawdy and her husband R. W. Drawdy.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 25, 2021 at New River Holiness Church at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. A. D. Connell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. Serving as active pallbearers are Mike Williford, Tony Connell, Garrett Myers, Grant Brown, Logan Deason, Clay Connell, Johnny Tawzer, and Dusty Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hale, Danny Thornton, Mark Parker, Dion Hale, Roger McDaniel, Nicky Griffin, and Steven Carter.
