Minnie Lois Cone

Mrs. Minnie Lois Touchton Cone, 86 of Quitman passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Cone was a lifelong resident of Brooks County, GA. She was born to the late Jesse William and Lomey Story Touchton in Colquitt County, GA on April 19, 1934. Mrs. Cone retired from the Brooks County School System after 20 years of service. 

Survivors include her son, Roy Cone (Kathy) of Quitman, her daughter, Kathryn Cone-Willis (Michael) of Valdosta; granddaughters, Amanda Day of Griffin, Tiffany Hatfield (Kris) of Hahira, Blair Tomlinson (Chase) of Valdosta, Kari (Stephen) of Quitman; great grandchildren, Angel Verkruysse, Anthony Slaten, Landon Grammer, Keyleigh Hatfield, Ava Claire Tomlinson; great great grandchildren, Aiden Slaten, and CJ Verkruysse. Mrs. Cone was preceded in death by her husband, L. Ralph Cone; and her sisters, Edith Sapp, and Ruby Touchton. 

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Minister Drew Suttles and Bro Joe Barber officiating. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
