Minnie Benefield

Mrs. Minnie Shermalee Benefield, 88, of Nashville passed away Friday, February 28, 2020. Mrs. Benefield was born February 28, 1932 to the late Ira and Seattie Smith Taft. Mrs. Benefield retired from Amaco Fabrics as a weaver.
Survivors include her children, Sealitta ( Brian Allmon ) Bunch of Adel, Vida Benefield of Nashville, Teresa Moore of Adel, and George Benefield of Nashville; grandchildren, Eugene Benefield, Leslie Bailey, Kimberly Daniels, Jessica Royals, Santana Royals, Shelby Mallory, Laura Mendez, Edward Roach, Kelli Griffin, Kayla Coats, Kathy Youngblood, Derek Brooker, Ray Lynn Archer, James Archer, Scott Benefield, Zack Benefield and Dominic Benefield, Corey Allmon; numerous great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Taft of  Axson, Ga.; sister, Shirley Taft Murray of Pearson, Ga. and  Special Longtime Friend Loraine Browning. Mrs. Benefield was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Oddie Benefield; son, Edward Benefield, stepdaughter, Dawn Davis; daughter in law, LeAnn Benefield; brother, Lonnie Taft; and sister, Nancy Taft Wood.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Jessica Ogletree officiating.  Interment will follow at Westview Cemetry in Nashville. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
