Mary Alice Pyle, 89 of Quitman, Georgia, went home to be with Jesus, Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Presbyterian Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 2015. She was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, on February 8, 1933, to the late Velva and John G. Ring, Sr.
She was the final surviving charter member of Northside Baptist Church of Quitman, which was established in 1953. She was also the pianist there for 25 years. She loved music, and playing hymns for her church family brought her so much joy. She also loved working in her yards, being surrounded by the beauty of her plants and flowers. Her childhood years were spent in Barwick, Georgia, where she met her future husband, Floyd L. Pyle, whom she married October 20, 1949.
Mr. Floyd & Mrs. Mary Alice Pyle enjoyed 51 years of marriage until Floyd, Sr.’s death in 2000. All four of her siblings preceded her in death; brothers, Junior Ring, David Lee Ring, and Robert Ring, and sister, Wilda Bernabe.
Surviving family members include; her daughter, Barbara Ives of Destin, FL, her sons, Floyd Pyle, Jr. of Dixie, GA, Lee Pyle, (Brenda) of Valdosta, GA, and Jimmy Pyle of Quitman, GA; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many much-loved extended family members.
Her greatest wish is that her family and friends have an active relationship with Jesus Christ and that they worship in a Bible teaching church.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harris officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A private graveside service will be held, where she will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations be made to the Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 8559 US Hwy 84, Quitman, GA 31643.
