Mrs. Marjorie Helene Kearn Grant, 92 of Quitman passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Presbyterian Home Quitman. Mrs. Grant was born October 6, 1927 in Andover, Mass. to the late Frederick James Cook Kearn & Mary Evelyn O'Conner Kearn. She retired as a secretary and bookkeeper and was a member of the Quitman United Methodist Church, BPW, and Hazel Matthew Circle. She enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the hand bells at the church, listening to music, reading, and many sports.
Survivors include her daughter, Marcy Lynne Grant Harris of Valdosta; grandchildren, Joshua Stephen Harris, Amy Nicole Harris (Mandy Harris); great grandchildren, Makayla, Kyleigh, Zaeleigh, Harley, Aubrionna, Alston, Summer, Hayden, Gavin, Abbie, and Jackson; many nieces & nephews; special friends, John Horton, Jack McCard, and Judy & Larry Adams; dear special friends, James Horton, and Jamie Holland. Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Earle Grant; son, Donald Herbert Grant; siblings, Lillian & James Tammany, Charles & Ruth Kearn, Ruth and Edward Hardy, Warren & Eleanor Kearn, Virginia & James Holt, Herbert & Barbara Kearn; inlaws, Virginia Grant & Robert Benjamin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Quitman United Methodist Church with Rev. Sonny Mason, and Rev. Sally Flowers officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
