Marie Simmons

Mrs. Lois Marie Simmons, 86 of Adel, formerly of Lenox went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Simmons was born September 1, 1934 in Berrien county to the late Allen & Bessie Conger Purvis. Mrs. Simmons worked at Metal Products and a paraprofessional at Lenox Elementary School. She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and attended Lenox Christian Fellowship Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Joe (Jeanette) Simmons of Tifton, and Greg (Teresa) Simmons of Waycross; daughter, Essie Merritt of Adel; grandchildren, Brad (Kim) Simmons, and Becky Silvka; great grandchildren, Delana Simmons, LaKota Simmons, Hannah Silvka, Josiah Silvka, Ariel Silvka, Gage (Sara) TenHagen, and Malorie TenHagen; two sisters, Lucy (Oklan) Myers, and Laverna (Vernie) Wright; and two brothers, Carroll Purvis, and Elmer (Lynn) Purvis; several nephews, one niece, and several cousins. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Alderman Simmons; and a brother, Felton Purvis.

Graveside service will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lenox City Cemetery with Rev. Jimmie Hinson officiating.
