Laura Montgomery

Mrs. Laura Montgomery, 87 of Quitman passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Presbyterian Home, Quitman. Mrs. Montgomery was born March 17, 1931 in Washington, Indiana and was a member of the New Life Assembly Church.

Survivors include her children, Jimmie Lee (Alisha) Montgomery, Jr. of Moultrie, Leann Montgomery of Green Cove Springs, Fl, and Louise (Mark) Crum of Quitman; grandchildren, Carrie Sparks, Gwen Monk, Michael Crews, Brandon Crum, Brandy Barnard, Michael Lee Montgomery, Jr., Wesley Montgomery, and Landon Montgomery; numerous great grandchldren and great great grandchildren; one sister, Dory Feltman.  Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee Montgomery, Sr.; two sons, Michael Lee Montgomery, Sr., and Robert Douglas Montgomery; one grandson, Heath Crews; two brothers, Glenn Deffendolf, and George Robling; and three sisters, Glennis Hamilton, Mary Lou Money, and Cory Jensen

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. At New Life Assembly Church with Pastor Arnold Hodum, and Pastor Randy Stokes officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery in Echols Co. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
