Obituary
Mrs. Lanell Southerland, of Sparks passed away Monday, April, 3, 2023 at South Georgia Medical Center, Berrien Campus. She was born August 12, 1943 to the late Ralph Dalton Purvis & Mildred Eunice Goff Purvis. Mrs. Lanell enjoyed crocheting, playing solitaire, listening to her music. Her grandchildren always brought her snickers that she loved to eat. She loved her family very much.
Survivors include her children, Taresa (Todd) Hancock of Adel, Debbie (Marlon) Giddens of Sparks, and Randy Southerland of Adel; grandchildren, Donna Prinkey, Shad Prinkey, Heather (justin) Harper, Brittney (Shane) Warren, Caitlin Giddens, Megan Southerland, and Mitchell (Summer) Southerland; 10 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; brothers, Dalton (Julia) Purvis of Sparks, Larry (Patsy) Purvis of Nashville, and Melvin Purvis of Sparta; and one sister, Susanne Nichols of Nashville. Mrs. Lanell was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Southerland.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sparks City Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
