Johnny William Lynch of Adel, Georgia died on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Tifton Regional Medical Center at the age of 88 years young. He was well-known in the community for his love of animals, especially horses. Johnny was born in Berrien County, Georgia to John William and Nancy Jane Lynch in 1934. For most of Johnny’s adult life he worked on off-shore supply vessels supporting oil rigs. Over the years he worked his way up eventually earning his Chief Engineer’s license. Since 1969, he lived in Adel with his wife Betty Lou Henderson (deceased 2015). He is survived by his two children Peggy (Ron) Thompson of Pensacola, FL and Ronnie (Wanda Harper) Lynch of Adel, GA; grandchildren Ron (Dori), Brett (Shannon), Kelly (Jason), Chris (Bonnie), Bryan (Carlie), Mary (Kyle), Ashley (Dustin); great grandchildren Macen, Taylor T., Samantha, Alex, Kathryn, Morgan, Nolan, Landon, Aria, Roman, Jeffery, Amaya, Jacob, Taylor V., Avery, and Phoenix. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Jackie Lynch, JoAnn (James) Smith, Linda Lindsey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11 am at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
