John Calvin Elliott

John Calvin Elliott, 93 of Barwick, Georgia passed away December 16, 2021. He was born January 1, 1928 to the late William J. Elliott and Annie M. Elliott. John grew up in Morven, GA during the depression, when life on a small farm was meager, but family ties were abundant. He loved farm life and after working for Greenwood Seed Company as a young man and W. J. Powell & Company for 32 years, he retired to “John’s Lil’ Farm” in Barwick. He became involved in the community and spent many enjoyable days on his John Deere tractor, working his small plot of land and helping others with theirs. His family and friends will remember him as a dependable, trustworthy, hard - working man.

Survivors include his children, Lynn Elliott Jackson (Bill) of Auburn, Al, Bruce Elliott (Kathy) of Ochlocknee, and Ted Elliott (Brenda) of Thomasville; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Betty, who died in 1996; his sister, Hazel Newton; brothers, Rudell Elliott, and Robert Elliott; and step granddaughter, Toni Rayburn.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Rosewood Cemetery in Barwick with Mr. Craig Moore officiating.
