John Culpepper

John Edward Culpepper, Sr, 58 of Quitman passed away Friday, August 12, 2022 at Brooks County Hospital. John was born April 21, 1964 in Quitman to the late Jack & Merle Harrell Culpepper. He enjoyed cutting his grass, keeping his yard looking nice. John loved his family and children and was very proud of them.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie Culpepper of Quitman; children, John Edward "Bubba" Culpepper, Jr., and Jeri Rose Culpepper of Quitman; cousins Lynn Shipes of Valdosta, Marilyn Howell of Tallahassee, Ricky Lewis of Tallahassee, Chrissy Shipes of Quitman, Alicia Sharpe of Tallahassee, Patty Shipes Monk of Valdosta, Kasey Williams of Hahira, and Marie Tucker of Tallahassee; father & mother in law, Jerry and Nancy Curl of Quitman. John was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Culpepper; and cousin, Eddy Teeter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Quitman with Rev. Nick Hampton officiating. Interment will follow at Elam Community Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home.
