Jimmy Greene

Jimmy Greene, 66, of Sparks passed away on October 17, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Greene was born July 13, 1957, in Adel to Charles and Louise Greene. As a young man, he served in the United States Army. Following that he was a dedicated employee to J.M. Eagle where he worked for 20 years as a forklift mechanic. In his free time, Jimmy loved to fish, ride motorcycles, and shoot pool. One of his favorite things to do was grilling for his friends and family. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Greene of Sparks; mother, Louise Greene of Sparks; son, Michael Greene; daughters, Cindy (Mike) Lindsey of Sparks and Tammy Renee (Christopher) Langston of Irwin County; son-in-law, Mark Heith Stone of Tifton; brother, Archie Greene of Adel; sisters, Ann (Gerald) Richardson of Adel and Tammy (Denny) Thomas of Monticello; 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Mr. Greene is preceded in death by his father, Charles Greene; his son, Cory Reed Greene; and his daughter, Donna Kaye Stone. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 A.M with Rev. Marty McCraine officiating. at Purvis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the McMillian Family Cemetery in Colquitt County. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Purvis Funeral Home.
