Jim Mitchell Obituary

Mr. Jim Mitchell, 60 of Quitman passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Mr. Mitchell was born January 21, 1960 in Live Oak, Fl. He was an avid trojan fan and he coached the midget league football for 20 years. He was also the announcer for the Brooks County Football Team. Mr. Mitchell was owner of Quitman Printing & Office Supplies that was a family owned business for 32 years. He loved to fish and cook for everyone, but most of all he enjoyed making people laugh. Mr. Mitchell was a member of First Baptist Church of Quitman.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Mitchell of Quitman; children, Justin Mitchell of Gainesville, FL, and Jenna (Mitch) Clabeaux of Destin, FL; mother, Judy Mitchell of Quitman; sisters, Luann Kelly of Quitman, and Brendy Williamson of Quitman. Mr. Mitchell was preceded by his father, Jessie Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Quitman at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Shierling, and Rev. Calvin Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with the VVA Chapter #1090 of Adel providing military rites. The family will be receiving friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
