Jerry "Woot" Sheffield Obituary

Mr. Jerry "Woot" Sheffield, 79 of Valdosta passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at his residence.  Mr. Sheffield was born March 5, 1940 to the late Clarence & Catherine Herndon Sheffield.  He served in the United States Army from 1960-1964.  He worked in the cable tv business for years and was often referred to as the cable man .  Mr. Sheffield was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Cornelius Sheffield of Valdosta; daughters, Melissa (Dale) Mims of Valdosta, and Dr. Jeri Lynn Sheffield of Valdosta; granddaughter, Brittany (Joseph) Brown of Valdosta; great grandson, Camerin Rigdon, his pride and joy; brother, Larry (Paula) Sheffield of Naylor; sisters, Nancy (Bill) Parker of Valdosta, Dorothy Skiles of TX, and Mary Catherine Davidson of Colorado; several nieces & nephews. Mr. Sheffield was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Sheffield, Burton Sheffield, and Charles Sheffield; and one sister, Margaret Smith.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Hahira United Methodist Church.
