Jeffery Dewayne Hay

Mr. Dewayne Hay, 52 of Hahira passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at his parents residence. Dewayne was born December 11, 1968 in Valdosta, GA. He was a truck driver, mostly hauling logs and he got the nickname "Log Chain." He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his parents, William and Mary Kate Hay of Ray City; brother, Ronald Hay of Arkansas; uncle, Ronnie (Janice) Pittman of Valdosta; cousins, Christy Eason, David Pittman, and Emmett Eason; and best friend, Lois Rumph of Adel. Dewayne was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sam & Catherine Pittman Malone; and paternal grandparents, Dub & Inez Hay. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry L. Rewis officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
