Jane Collins Edmondson, age 85 entered into rest on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 following a short illness. Jane was born March 16, 1937 in Quitman, GA to John Avera and Mary Eliza Collins. Jane, "Grandma Jane" as she was known by many, was a lifelong resident of Brooks County. Jane retired from Brooks County School system, and began her service to the county working in the Tag Office for many years. Jane loved cooking, shopping, spending time in the mountains of North Ga and Tennessee watching the leaves turn each fall. Her biggest enjoyment came from travels with her late husband, Remer, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Remer C. Edmondson; sisters, Joan Folsom, Mary Hancock, Helen Grubbs, Mattie Miller, Ruth Miller; and brothers, Hubert Miller, Jack Collins, Ralph Collins, and Bobby Collins.
Survivors include her sons, Randy Edmondson of Quitman, and Rodney Edmondson of Macon; grandchildren, Ryan (Sara) Edmondson of Rota Spain, Sarah (Dusty) Lambert of Statenville, GA; great grandchildren, Tyer Edmondson, Owen Edmondson, Catherine Edmondson, Bryan Lambert, and Ellie Lambert.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to be made to First Baptist Church Quitman, 509 W.
