James Edmondson Obituary

James Randal “Randy” Edmondson, 61, of Quitman, GA passed suddenly Sunday, May 1, 2022. Born in Quitman, to the late Remer C. Edmondson and Jane Collins Edmondson, Randy was a resident of Brooks County most of his life.

Following Graduation from Brooks County High School, Randy worked with Winn Dixie Stores Inc. for 30 years; and, served 3 years as a Detention Officer with the Brooks County Sheriff's Office.

Randy loved the outdoors, always looking for ways to make tomorrow better than today. When fishing, he loved to snag a big one and mount it on the wall; but, he always released the smaller ones to live another day, providing for the enjoyment of someone else snagging it next time. He also enjoyed landscaping and taking care of his lawn. This love allowed him to win the Azalea City Lawn of the Month on multiple occasions.

Randy served the communities in which he lived every day. Two of his most coveted achievements were successfully graduating from the City of Valdosta’s Citizens Police Academy and the City of Valdosta’s Citizens Fire Academy.

Survivors Include his brother Rodney Edmondson, nephew, Ryan (Sara) Edmondson, niece, Sarah (Dusty) Lambert, Great Nephews, Tyler Edmondson, Owen Edmondson, Bryan Lambert, Great Nieces, Catherine Edmondson, Ellie Lambert. Randy was preceded in death by his parents Remer C. Edmondson and Jane C. Edmondson.
