James Stacy “Lump” Lumpkin, 52, of Lenox passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 in Tift County. Stacy was born in Turner County on April 3, 1969 to the late James Dorsey Lumpkin and Ellen Faye Simmons Tucker.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his Step-father, Melvin Tucker of Sparks, Step-mother, Sandy Lumpkin of Ashburn, Aunt Marguerite (Buddy) Lewis of Cordele, Cousins Steve (Lisa) Simmons of Lenox, Jerry (Sherri) Simmons of Chula and Phillip (Kim) Simmons & Lisa (Erron) Smart all of Nashville. In addition to his father, Stacy is preceded in death by his Uncle and Aunt Johnny & Georgeann Simmons, maternal Grandparents Lessie & Bertha Simmons and paternal Grandparents J.D. & Margaret Lumpkin.
Stacy, known to family and friends since childhood, as “Lump”, loved living on his family’s farm in Lenox. He was always finding a new project to tinker with or something he could “fix-up”. Stacy enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors with his faithful sidekick, his beloved dog “Baby Girl”.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Chuch Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Simmons officiating. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening fro 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Purvis Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
