Gene Baker

Mr. Gene Baker, 84 of Lenox passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2021 at Navicent Health in Macon. Mr. Baker was born August 8, 1936 to the late Edwin & Lillian Simmons Baker. He attended Pine Grove Baptist Church and was a sawmiller and farmer. He was hard working and loved his family. Mr. Baker also loved all his animals, livestock and his dog "Brownie."

Survivors include his children, Timmie (Cathy) Baker of Adel, Cathy Baker Walker of West Berrien, Tony (Jodi) Baker of Goldsboro, NC, and David (Melanie) Baker of Lenox; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ashlee) Walker, Chase Walker, Hunt Baker, Jarrod (Brittany) Baker, Benjamin Baker, Jessica Baker (Donald) Franklin, Courtney Baker (George) McLeighton, Dillan Baker, Austin (Haley) Baker and Melena Baker; great grandchildren, Sydney Walker, Tyler Franklin, Parker Baker, Logan Baker, Tristan Baker, Leigha McLeighton, Colton McLeighton, Zayden Baker, and Alta Grace Baker; brother and sister in law, Melvin and Sharon Rowan. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Baker and son in law, David Walker.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 a m at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Easters Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
