Eva Nell Jones

Eva Nell Hutchinson Jones, a woman of unwavering strength and deep love, peacefully passed away on April 14, 2024, in Quitman, GA, after battling a long illness. Born on March 31, 1946, in Quitman, she was the daughter of Mozell Monk Hutchinson and Letha Hutchinson, Sr.

Eva Nell was the devoted wife of Kenneth Jones and the loving mother of Walter (Catherine) Jones of Tyrone, GA, and Amy (Mike) Brogdon of Quitman, GA. Her grandchildren, David Roberts, Emily Roberts, and Mikey Brogdon were the source of immeasurable joy in her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Bustle of Coolidge and Betty Jean Roark of Valdosta and her sister-in-law Lois Hutchinson. Eva Nell was preceded in death by her father, Letha Hutchinson Sr., her mother, Mozell Hutchinson, and her three brothers Gene, Junior, and James Hutchinson.

Eva Nell dedicated her career to retail sales, starting at Hogan's Jewelry in Quitman. She later joined Belk Department Store in Valdosta, where she formed lasting relationships and served diligently until her retirement.

Eva Nell's life was marked by resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy will endure through the lives she touched.

The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 17 at 11:00 AM at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Quitman. A graveside service will follow, beginning at 12:00 PM. with Reverend Klay Luke officiating.

May she find eternal rest, knowing she was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
