Eugene Pilcher

Mr. Eugene Pilcher, 86 of Sparks passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Pilcher was born September 7, 1933 to the late Grandberry & Alice Tillman Pilcher.  Mr. Pilcher worked with Northwest Airlines as a machinist and after retiring he started his own business, Pilcher's Machine Works.  He served as a jail chaplain for several counties, including Cook, Lowndes, Berrien, Lanier, and Colquitt.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Grace Pilcher of Sparks, children, Penny (David) West,  Andy (Anna) Scott of Hahira, Kelly Pilcher of Atlanta, Michael Pilcher of Atlanta, Phillip (Lynne) Pilcher of Ohio; stepchildren, Jeff Jeffords of Douglas,Jarred Jeffords of Adel, Rose Marie Jeffords of Nashville, and Valorie Jeffords of Adel; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Curtis (Dorothy) Pilcher of Adel; sister, Betty Ruth (Gerald) Bailey of Valdosta; sister in law, Elouise Pilcher of Adel; and several nieces & nephews.  Mr. Pilcher was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis Pilcher, Claude Pilcher, Sr, Wilburn Pilcher, and Russell Pilcher; and one sister, Nettie Folsom Lawrence.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ricky Pilcher, Mr. Steve Stripling, and Mr. Larry Patterson officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Purvis Funeral Home.
