Eddie Hayes, Jr.

Eddie Hayes, Jr., 57 of Quitman passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at his home. Eddie was born September 26, 1965 to the late Willie & Sandra Barker Hayes, Sr. and had lived in Brooks County all his life. He was a loving, caring, compassionate Christian husband, father, and friend to all. Eddie loved his family very much and was very active in Hickory Head Baptist Church. He enjoyed every sport with his children and enjoyed playing tennis and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Jerri Hayes; daughter, Cristi Beaty; son, Joel (Kelly) Beaty; grandson, Wilson Beaty; sister Renee Hayes; brother, Richard Hayes (Renee Baker); nieces, Macy Hayes, Kelly Yawn, Lidia Lawhorne, Brianna Yawn & Acelynn Yawn; nephews, Trey Wilson, Ken Yawn, Allen Michael Hayes, and Haden Hayes; sister-in-law, Dawn Thomas. Eddie was preceded in death by father-in-law, Frank H. Jones, and mother-in-law, Loraine Jones. 

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Esau Jones officiating.
