Debra Dozier

Debra Lanita Johnson Dozier, 64, of Quitman, Ga, went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2022. She was born in Quitman, Ga to the late Charles and Nona Johnson. Debra was a member of Northside Baptist Church.She enjoyed singing in the choir and decorating the church for holidays. When she wasn’t working or at church, she could be found making wreaths or canning produce with her sisters. Debra was known for her hospitality and her southern cooking.

Debra is survived by her daughters, Amy Pearson (Joe Pitts) and Angie Ford (Neal Ford) and her son, Travis Taylor (Nicole Barrett); grandchildren, Kylee Kendrick (Luke Kendrick), Jaden Ford, Evan Pearson, Bruce Ford, Lainee Pearson, Ansley Ford, and Elizabeth Taylor. She is also survived by her siblings, Patsy Godwin (Sonny Godwin), Buddy Johnson (Serena Johnson), Marjorie Smith (Jimmy Smith), Brenda Blair (Olin Blair), and David Johnson (Margaret Johnson).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Northside Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m at Maxwell - Purvis Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the roof restoration fund at Northside Baptist Church    P O Box 94 Quitman, Ga. Attention Karla Robinson, Church Treasurer. The family will be gathering at the residence of Patsy & Sonny Godwin, 2550 Stanley Rd., Quitman, GA 31643.
