Jace Walker, beloved daddy, teacher and coach, passed away at age 28. A 2013 graduate of Cook High School, he served 3 years in the U S Navy and returned to South Georgia and completed his Bachelor of Science Degree at Valdosta State University in 2020. Jace taught Special Needs Classes and was assistant baseball and assistant softball coach for Cook High School. He served as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes representative for CHS and loved that he was teaching at his Alma Mater. Jace enjoyed traveling with family, especially to the mountains. As a dedicated father, he loved his sons and loved teaching them the fundamentals of baseball and playing ball with them. Jace was a golfer and was a #1 fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.
Jace is survived by his fiance’, Cassie Doyle of Pavo; his sons, Jaxon Walker and Wyatt Walker, both of Pavo; father, Mike (Melissa) Bennett of Adel; mother, Heather Walker of Ocala, FL; sisters, Kayla Bennett of Nashville, Taylor (Matt) Griner of Nashville, Lauren (Allen) Conine of Lakeland, Makayla (Joey) Rencarge of Adel, and Marlee Walker of Atlanta; paternal grandmother, Sandra Edgeworth of Nashville; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Tesha Walker of Conway, N.C. and Wendy & Choskey White of Ocala, FL; in-laws, Jim and Simone Doyle of Crawfordville, FL; and several nieces & nephews. Jace was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Calvin and Mary Bennett; and maternal great grandmother, Peggy Walker.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Carolyn Harris Performing Arts Center at Cook High School with Pastor Jacob Webster officiating. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service in the Performing Arts Center from 4-6 p.m.
