Celia Annette Yates Walls, of Adel, Georgia, was born to Justin and Vilda (Sparkman) Yates of Basinger, Florida. She lived her life in service to God and her family. Her daughters and her grandbabies were her world. If ever the phrase “Angel on Earth” could be said, it could definitely be said of her! She would help anyone she could, even when that meant she would be without, and took the saying, “give a stranger the shirt off your back,” to heart. She truly knew and epitomized Hebrews 13:2, which states, “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained Angels unawares.”
Celia is preceded in death by both her grandparents and parents, as well as her baby brother Justin A. "Buddy" Yates, and her grandson John Daniel. She leaves behind her husband William “Bill” Walls, their three daughters Naomi Heath (Tony), Rebekah Dent (Corey), and Lottie Gervais (Scott), and nine grandchildren, Lee Lee, Caleb, Peyton. Hunter, Cordale, Hagen, Lacey, Josh, and Scott Jr. (Bubba), all of Georgia. She is also survived by her sister, Cindy VanHyning of Texas, and three brothers, Stan (Jennifer) of Georgia, Marcus (Carol) and Dennis (Joy), both of Florida. And many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Purvis Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Coty Thomas officiating. Celia will be laid to rest beside her loved ones at the Basinger Cemetery.
