Cathy Scearcy

Cathy Scearcy, 92 of Morven passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Scearcy was born October 20, 1930 in Valdosta to the late Robert & Memory Van Willis Vocke. She retired from being a teachers assistance with the Brooks County Board of Education. Mrs. Scearcy was a member of the Church of Christ in Morven, and she enjoyed working in her yard, knitting, and sewing. 

Survivors include her daughters, Denise Bell of Morven, Alice S. (Jerrol) Cook of Silver Creek, GA, and Brenda Ann Scearcy of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Travis Bell, Craig M. Bell, Jonathan L. Bell, Jeffery A. Bell, Larkin Lowerherz, Jennifer R. Mann, Erin E. Dewberry, and Justin D. Mann; numerous great grandchildren. Mrs. Scearcy was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Scearcy; sons, Thomas Leroy Scearcy, and Edward Allen Scearcy; and brothers, Donald Lee Vocke, and Joseph Dale Vocke.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Camp Ground Cemetery with Minister Tommy Simpson officiating. The family will meet friends after the graveside service.
