Bobby Edmondson

Robert "Bobby" Lee Edmondson, 87, of Morven passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Brooks County Hospital. He was born July 3, 1935 to the late Rupert Moses and Sally Bell Lee Edmondson. He married Edna Sarah Howard Edmondson on December 18, 1954 and they were just short of celebrating 68 happily married years together. After graduating from Morven High School he held several jobs before being drafted into the Army where he served for 2 years. He continued to serve his country in the National Guard after discharge from the Army. He worked as service manager at Hunter Motor Company until its closing. In 1982, he opened Bobby’s Auto Center, Inc., and expanded the business by opening a Bumper to Bumper parts store two years later. In 2000, Bobby retired to enjoy spending time with his family, friends and most of all his 3 grandsons. He served for many years in the Quitman Lions’ Club and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He and Edna loved traveling with friends and took many trips before and after retirement. He absolutely loved country music and live performances of his favorite singer.

He is survived by his wife, Edna of Morven; his son Robert (Lynn) Edmondson, Jr. of Pavo and daughter Alisa (Stan) Thomas of Quitman; 3 grandsons, Dusty Thomas, Reed Thomas and Luke Edmondson; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Emory Edmondson.

Graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Larry Harris officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Dusty Thomas, Reed Thomas, Luke Edmondson, Virgil Howard, Hub Cashwell and Jamie Jones. In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial donation to Philadelphia Baptist Church, 3091 Troupeville Rd., Quitman, GA 31643.
