Bob Henderson Obituary

Mr. Robert "Bob" Glen Henderson passed away Saturday September 19, 2020 at the age of 82 in Covington, GA where he resided. Bob is from Jacksonville, Fl and was born on May 12, 1938.  He is the child of the late Ben and Louise Henderson.  He served in the United States Navy as an Air Traffic Controller and was Honorably discharged in 1959.  He went on to graduate from the University of Alabama in 1966 where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.  While working at Florida National Bank in Jacksonville, Fl he met the love of his life and they wed on June 30, 1973.  Bob later founded South Georgia Title and Trust and retired in 2009 passing the business on to his son.
Bob was deeply passionate about his family and loved spending time with his sons and many grandchildren.  He was the quintessential yard man and his biggest hobby was spending time in his yard and maintaining the landscape, much of which was done with an Old Timer pocket knife.  He loved sports and was an avid supporter of Alabama Football.  He had the gift of storytelling and an amazing sense of humor.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Virginia Daughtrey Henderson; his sister Doris Porterfield; brother Ross Henderson; his four sons and their wives Bobby & Jennfier, Candler & Patsy, Andrew & Rachel, and Allen & Shelly Henderson; along with thirteen grandchildren; Brandon Manawhat; Andrea Hall; Casandra Kinzie; Trevor Sawyers; Jacob Henderson, Dylan Henderson, Grace Anna Henderson, Savannah Henderson, Andrew Henderson, Matthew Henderson, Parker Henderson, Chase Henderson, Allie Henderson, and Denley Henderson; and one great grandchild, June Hall. Bob was preceded in death by his son, James Matthew Henderson.
