Mr. William Glynn "Bill" Rogers, 84, of Quitman, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Candler County Hospital in Metter. He was born April 2, 1936 to the late James William "Jay"and Willora O'Neal Rogers. Bill was a automobile salesman and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time on the golf course. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member and enjoyed many reunions with the 56th Field Artillery Battalion Headquarters Battery Group. He was a member of the Quitman First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his sons and daughters in laws, William Glynn and Deonna Hall Rogers, of Atlanta, Alan Keith and Stephanie Cheryl Rogers, of Atlanta; grandson, Christopher Lloyd and his wife, Katie Marie Rogers, of Ohio; former wife, Beverly Rogers, of Quitman, and her children, Wendy Hall, of Jacksonville, and Jamie Hall, of Quitman; sister, Sheila Clanton, of Tallahassee. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Jean Rogers.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Maxwell Purvis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
