Bertie Dees

Bertie Dees, 77 of Adel passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Southwell Nursing Center.  Mrs. Dees was born August 19, 1943 to the late John Gordon Taylor and Malzie Lee Stanley Taylor. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church since 1973 and was a caretaker before retiring.

Survivors include her grandchilden, Merileigh Dees of Nashville, TN, and Brittney Daum of Holly Hill, S C;  brother, Frank Taylor of Black Mountain, N C; niece and caretaker, Judy Stalvey of Hahira; special nieces, Kathy Wetherington of Cecil, and JoAnna Lightfoot of Tifton; several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dees was preceded in death by her two sons, William Dees, III and Daniel Jonathan Dees; brothers, Warren Taylor, and Joel Taylor; sisters, Barbara Ann Martin, Melba Williams, and Pauline Nichols. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. Interment will follow at Campground Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Purvis Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Bethany Hospice, 2700 N. Oak St., Valdosta, GA 31602.
