William Childers Obituary

Mr. William Childers, 71 of Quitman passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Fl. Mr. Childers was born July 19, 1947 to the late Edgar & Maude Thompson Childers. He was a retired Vietnam Veteran with the United States Army and was very proud of his country. Mr. Childers was also a member of Morrison Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ingrid Childers of Quitman; children, Jeanette (Kenneth) Rivet of Denver Colorado, and Nicole (Nick) Childers of Australia; grandchildren, Amanda Bryant, and Megan Rivet; great grandsons, Connor TwoEagles-Downing, and Wyatt TwoEagles-Downing; one brother, Wilberlyn (Sara) Childers of Moultrie; two sisters, Nancy Hallford of Memphis, Tn, and Edna (Herbert) Connell of Moultrie; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Childers was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Childers, and Edgar Childers; one brother, Noel Childers; and one sister, Anne Touchton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Pitt officiating. Interment will follow with military rites in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
