Stephen Sizemore Obituary

Stephen Wayne Sizemore, 61, died Saturday, August 25, 2018 at home in Gurnee, IL. Born March 22, 1957 in Savannah, GA, he was the son of Roy and Frances Mayers of Jesup, GA. Steve graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1981 and began an inspiring and successful career spanning over 25 years as a business leader in the plastics industry. A loving and doting husband, father and grandfather, Steve was an avid fisherman and gardener and loved the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Donele Blair Sizemore; his sons, Stephen Parker Sizemore (Carlee) of Columbia, SC and Christopher Blake Sizemore of Austin, TX; his grandsons, Porter Sizemore and Nolan Sizemore; his sisters, Pamela Devereaux (John) and Lisa Mayers; and his beloved Welsh Terrier, Kaycie. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy B. Mayers.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hickory Head Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 4-6 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
