Paula Harrison passed away Nov. 17, 2018 at the age of 102. Born in Shore, Ga. (Brooks County), on April 6, 1916, Paula was the daughter of Frank and Mary Shore. The family moved to Quitman in 1919 to the home her father built on North Court Street where she lived for over 80 years. She graduated from High School in Quitman and soon after married the love of her life, Colquitt Harrison. Paula was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School as well as played the piano for the Children’s Department for many years. She was an avid gardener and often provided beautiful flowers for the church altar.
Paula was predeceased by her husband, Colquitt, her parents, Frank & Mary Shore, her brother and four sisters. She is survived by many nieces and nephews who cherish her memory and celebrate her home going. A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Baptist Church of Quitman on Saturday, December 1, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to First Baptist Church’s Development Fund in Paula’s memory.
