Lanny Mitchell Obituary

Mr. Lambert "Lanny" Mitchell, 76 of Quitman passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at Archbold Medical Center. Mr. Mitchell was born July 27, 1942 to the late James Mitchell and Lillian Herring Mitchell. He served in the National Guard and was an auditor with the State of Georgia before he retired.

Survivors include his brother, Larry Mitchell of Quitman; sister, Martha Butler of Quitman; nephews, Hunter Walker of Pace, Fl, James Mitchell Walker of Goldsburg, NC, Christopher Walker of Alabaster, Al, and John Wesley Butler of Memphis, Tn; one niece, Dolly Walker of Birmingham, Al. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by one brother, James Vincent Mitchell; and one sister, Emily Mitchell Walker.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Arnold Hodum officiating. The family will greet friends after the service.
