Mr. John McGuire, 68 of Sparks passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center.  Mr. McGuire was born June 14, 1949 in Stanford, Kentucky.  He was owner of a thrift store in Tifton for many years.

Survivors include his children, Tonya McGuire of Sparks, and Tina Christine Watkins of Lexington, KY; mother, Christina Henderson of Stanford Kentucky; grandchildren, Amanda McGuire, Joseph McGuire, Christina Smith, Jonathon Parson, Darrell Wayne Parson, Gina Mae Parson, and JoAnna Marie Parson; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Dana Henderson of Stanford, KY.  Mr. McGuire was preceded in death by his father, Johnny McGuire.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Bro. Virgil Valkom officiating.
