Jerry Tatum

Mr. Jerry Tatum, 65 of Adel passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center.  Mr. Tatum was born November 9, 1953 to the late Ethridge Charles Tatum and Lorene Bennett Tatum.  He worked as a carpenter and was a member of Nashville Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Meeler Tatum of Adel; children, Stephen Wayne Tatum (Paula Wyatt) of Adel, Jerry Lynn Tatum, Jr (Karli Smith) of Adel, Lisa Marie Tatum (John Easler)of Valdosta, Jennifer Brittan (Daniel) Garrison of Fl, Heather Dennis Tatum (John Brannon) of Valdosta, Ashley Lynn Tatum (James Wise) of Lakeland and Crystal Lynn Tatum (Henry Crow-Dz) of Adel; 18 grandchildren; sisters, Marlene (R.L.) Thigpen of Sparks, Betty Cain of Hahira, and Ann Tatum of Fl; brothers, Hilton (Barbara) Griner of Nashville, Marshall Tatum of Nashville, and Billy Wayne Tatum of Nashville; father in law, Franklin Meeler of Adel.  Mr. Tatum was preceded in death by three sisters, Carol Thigpen, Sue NeSmith, and Irma Tatum; and one brother, Charles Thomas Tatum.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Freddy Stone, and Rev. David Hewitt officiating.  Interment will follow at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.  Serving as pallbearers are Mike Lindsey, Corey Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Billy Faircloth, Daniel Garrison, and Frank Goldinger, Jr.
