Mr. Grady Williams, 89 of Quitman passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Brooks County Hospital. Mr. Williams was born February 15, 1930 to the late Frank and Bonnie Jameson Williams. He served two terms in the Korean War and was active in the Vietnam Conflict under the United States Army. Mr. Williams was co-founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Refuge of Hope and member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Quitman First Baptist Church and the Nutall Rise Club. Mr. Williams collected antiques and would hunt for arrow heads. He loved animals and was passionate servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Williams of Quitman; niece & nephews, Andrea (Gordon) Strom of OH, Chip (Suzanne) Tanner of Quitman, and Joey Tanner of Valdosta; grand niece, Victoria Tanner of Quitman; sister in law, Pat (Jack) Tanner of Quitman; and brother in law, Jeff (Cheryl) Massey of Valdosta. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by one brother, Doyle Williams.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Quitman First Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
