Mr. George Scaff, died at the home of his daughter in Adel, Ga, Tuesday, August 23, 2017.  George was born June 9, 1919 in Danbury, Connecticut.

He leaves behind his wife of 71 years, Helen Scaff; his daughters, Maureen and husband Steve, Joanne and husband Joseph; sisters, Lorraine and Eleanor; brother, Alex; three grandsons, John Jr. and wife Jill, Christopher, Gregory and wife Jessica.  Numerous nieces and nephews and friends. George was preceded in death by his father, Louis; mother, Elmaza; brothers, Nicholas and Louis, Jr.; sisters, Lorrice and Irene.

George loved his family and was loved by all that knew him.  He was known to give his shirt off his back for a friend.  George was a WWII Army Veteran and fought in the Battle Normandy. He earned several medals, including the Bronze Star and the French Legion of Honor Medal.  An avid horse race fan, George followed horse racing from the east to the west coast of the country.

George will be laid to rest at The Monastery of the Holy Spirit at a later date.
