Dorothy Myers

November 12, 1936 ~ September 29, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Mrs. Dorothy Myers, 80 of Quitman passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at her residence.  She was born November 12, 1936 to the late Arthur & Clara Cannon Plymel.  Mrs. Myers retired from Levi Strauss and was a member of the Quitman Church of God.  

Survivors include her children, Patricia Gregory of Quitman, Teresa (Felix) Williams of Quitman, and Kimberly (Ronald) Woodworth of Thomasville; grandchildren, Casey Hodges, Natasha Hodges, Lennon (Kara) Williams, Matthew (Ashley) Williams, Ray Creasy, Jr., and Hunter Woodworth; great grandchildren, Skyler Hodges, Camron Pendleton, Leanna Hodges, Elijha Williams, Timmy Ray Binion, Seairra Binion, Lorali Williams, Bentley Binion, Dawson Williams, C. J. Hodges, Camden Williams, and Dalton Williams; sisters, Phalere (Fred) Cannon of Fl, Margie Castleberry of Fl, and Carolyn (Darrell) Lewis of Tallahassee; brother, Lamar (Fran) Plymel of S.C.; brothers in law, Oklan (Lucy) Myers of Lenox, and Ronfurd (Sonya) Myers of Valdosta; sisters in law, Miracle (Earl) Wade of Quitman, Lenora (Tony) Del Rossi of Valdosta, Alvlene Royal of Valdosta, Jean Plymel and Martha Ann Plymel. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband, Lennon Myers; son, Joey Myers; sister, Connie Gay; brothers, W.J. Plymel, Ray Plymel, and Lynwood Plymel; brother in law, Jack Castleberry; sisters in law, Montine Ellison, and Verna Purvis.  

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Quitman Church of God at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gwin Jarriel officiating.  Interment will follow at Kennedy Chapel Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home.
