Donnie Hugh Vance

Mr. Donnie Vance, 69 of Sparks passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at his residence.  Mr. Vance was born July 29, 1950 to the late Earnest and Olive Joiner Vance.  He was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church where he was a member on the executive board.  Mr. Vance played football at the University of Georgia and Troy University in Alabama, and was named All-American Quarterback during his senior year of high school. 

After college he resided in Atlanta and became part owner of Peter Gregg Porsche & Audi and was able to be in the racing division and won numerous races.  Mr. Vance then worked as an insurance agent & manager with Colonial Life Insurance Company for 31 years, where he won every achievement of honor, such as the Rookie of the Year, State of Florida Sales Director of the Year, State of Florida Sales Representative of the year, and State of Florida Public Sector Area Manager of the Year.  

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Lindsey Vance of Lenox; son, Trenton Vance and fiance', Tara Deluca of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandson, Mason Vance; sister, Barbara Vance Parks of Atlanta; nephew & niece, Brett (Darlene) Stone of Atlanta; great niece & nephew, Brianna Stone of Atlanta, and Vance Stone of Atlanta; niece Phyllis Stone Wager & Curtis of West Palm Beach, FL; brother-in-law, Evan Philip “Tink” & Jenny Lindsey of Tifton; nephew, Craig Lindsey & Kristy Lindsey of Rome, GA; sister-in-law, Carrie Lindsey & niece, Sarah Lindsey; sister-in-law, Marsha Vance of Ocala, FL & niece Joy Johns of Atlanta, GA.  Mr. Vance was preceded in death by his son Payton Hugh Vance; one brother, Earnest Vance, Jr, and parents Earnest Vance and Olive Joiner of Sparks. 

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Mr. Brant Lindsey officiating.  

Immediately following the service all family and friends are invited to a reception at the home of Carolyn Vance, 3233 Judge Lott Rd, Lenox, GA.
