Bill Martin Obituary

Mr. Bill Martin, 77 of Adel passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Fellowship Home in Nashville.  Mr. Martin was born June 15, 1941 to the late Leon Martin & Fannie Mae Touchton Martin.  He retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of Westside Baptist Church.  

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Martin of Adel; daughters, Lauri Cannington of St. Petersburg, Fl, Kristie (Tim) Cumbus of Ray City, and Melinda (David) Burnette of Valdosta; stepsons, Terry Allen (Phon) Shealey of Adel, Scott (Toni) Shealey of Adel, Dr. Jeff (Glenda) Shealey of Adel; stepdaughter, Dee Dee Lindsey of Nashville; grandchildren, Emily Cannington, Kelsey Stone, and Chase Stone; step grandchildren, Rebecca (Keith) Noles, Justin (Mandy) Shealey, Rachel (Chris) Gordy, Lindsey (Clayton) Danforth, Michael (Jessica) Shealey, Kenzee Shealey, Michael Lindsey, Kaydee (Cam) Phelps, Koby Shealey, and Megan Lindsey; 12 great grandchildren; and one brother, Jake Martin.  Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his former late spouse, Dolly Martin; siblings, Lamar Martin, Lorrene Martin, Betty Nolan, Thelma Gray, Mary Bennett, Leonard Martin, and Mickey Martin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Rev. Scotty Mathis officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Purvis Funeral Home.  A special thank you to Hospice of South Georgia, Joseph, Paula, & Betty, and all the staff at Fellowship Home of Nashville.
